2007 GARDEN
 The 2007 spring and summer garden looked great! The herbs survived winter - and Rich Sgritta, the new Executive Director of The Hermitage is thanked for his contribution of a soaker hose system which kept the herbs and flowers alive this summer.
More great news! The 10 women who worked on the project were awarded the Award of Excellence by the Master Gardeners of New Jersey. They were honored in November (2007) at the local Master Gardener's meeting in Paramus NJ. The Hermitage Master Gardeners are busy preparing for next Spring. One of the highlights of the gardens will be a new outdoor fernery that will give visitors a taste of fern madness shared by Victorians at the time. And, a new demonstration garden is planned for the back of the house- it will be the first thing vistors see as they arrive at the new welcome center at The Hermitage. We participated in Family Garden Day this summer, where visitors could learn about the rehabilitation of the gardens as well as tour the house.
